Construction Supervision

According to the Finnish law, a building permit must be obtained for construction work. The municipal Construction Supervision Unit provides assistance in applying for all kinds of construction permits. We process building permit applications, grant permits and take care of all statutory inspections up to the final inspection of the construction. As the appropriate authority, we see to that constructions are carried out according to applicable laws and regulations. Accordingly, we help you with your permit application process and supervise the construction. Our goal is to enable a good and safe built environment made possible with the help of town plans and local master plans, and to simultaneously take care of the legal safety of builders and their neighbours.

The municipal Construction Supervision Unit takes out fees for the services rendered. They are determined according to Construction Supervision Fees approved by the municipal Construction and Environment Committee.

Construction supervision is carried out according to the Finnish Land Use and Building Act and subordinate statutes, the municipality of Sipoo Building Regulations, and plans. The Construction Supervision Unit is the municipal building supervision authority acting under the municipal Construction and Environment Committee.

The municipality of Sipoo Construction Supervision Department provides service via email and telephone. Our services are available in two languages, Finnish and Swedish. We recommend that the contact person assigned to your construction project is your principal designer or architect, and that they speak either Finnish or Swedish fluently.

We provide service to our clients via the Lupapiste online service, by email, and by telephone during our office hours. Building inspection times are booked by contacting our building inspectors.

Our building permit officers and building inspectors have their office hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Construction supervision experts have separate areas of responsibility shown on the attached map (Area A refers to areas north of the road Öljytie, whereas Area B refers to areas south of Öljytie).
