Temporary Early Childhood Education and Care
When necessary, parents may buy single care days for their child in a day care centre. Temporary ECEC organized by the municipality is tailored for each case separately, in cooperation with the placement coordinator and the family. Care can be arranged on the presumption that the care centre in question has free places as determined by the Finnish Early Childhood Education and Care Act.
Do the following
Whenever a need for temporary care arises, please contact the placement coordinator in your own region as soon as possible. They will determine whether there are places available and make arrangements for temporary day care.
To whom and on what terms
Nevertheless, it is advised to consider how the child can cope in a new environment without any familiar adults.
Early childhood education and care may be given to a child who has not reached the age of compulsory education.
Early childhood education and care may also be given to a child who has already reached the age of compulsory education if special circumstances so require and care cannot be otherwise arranged.
Temporary day care in the municipality of Sipoo is subject to a charge. The fees are determined according to currently valid ECEC client rates. For now, the fee for temporary full-time day care is €25.90/day.
