Kyrkoby skola

Kyrkoby school is situated near the Sipoo centre. The school has pupils in grades 1–6 divided into eight groups. The school language is Swedish. Our school has also two classes for pupils in need of special support. The preschool is located in the same premises as the school (pavilion), which enables smooth cooperation between the units. The school cooperates also with the day care centre Nickby barnträdgård.

The school gym (148 m2) can be booked by both municipal residents and associations.

We have a big school yard enabling a multitude of activities. The yard can be used to play various ball games, and it’s also equipped with climbing frames, swings, a sandpit and a ball wall. The school is located near the municipal central sports ground, ice hall and leisure trails, which we often visit during our PE classes. Thanks to our location, we are also able to carry out lessons outdoors.

All schools in the municipality of Sipoo use versatile working methods and teaching aids. Schools encourage the children to express themselves in a positive way, and to take responsibility for themselves and their surroundings. Schools take part in both national and international development projects. All schools in the municipality value peaceful, quiet and safe working conditions, innovative thinking, and an ecologically friendly way of life. Together with the children and the entire school staff, we promote these values every day. The school applies an antibullying program called KivaKoulu.
