Söderkulla skola
There are 160 pupils in the Söderkulla school. Our grades 1–6 are divided into nine basic groups: three multi-grade classes for grades 1 and 2, four separate classes, and two classes for pupils in need of special support. The school language is Swedish. The preschool is located in the same premises with the school, which enables us to cooperate smoothly with preschool education and primary education. The same school building also houses the Sipoonlahti school, providing education for Finnish-speaking teenagers in grades 7–9.
The school centre has a gym (590 m2) that can be booked by both municipal residents and associations. The gym can be used to play for example volleyball, basketball and badminton.
Söderkulla school is situated in the Söderkulla centre, but the nature is not far away. We have great possibilities for outdoor sports and excursions in the surrounding nature. Our activities have an emphasis on sports and fitness, versatile use of information and communication technology in education, and acknowledging different kinds of talents. During our everyday activities, special emphasis is laid on physical activity and the joy it gives, good basic education of high quality, and on the pupils’ social skills.
All schools in the municipality of Sipoo use versatile working methods and teaching aids. Schools encourage the children to express themselves in a positive way, and to take responsibility for themselves and their surroundings. Schools take part in both national and international development projects. All schools in the municipality value peaceful, quiet and safe working conditions, innovative thinking, and an ecologically friendly way of life. Together with the children and the entire school staff, we promote these values every day. The school applies an antibullying program called KivaKoulu.
